Strategic location of the city of Leon, its conditions and its own climate offers us an extra fertile land, concentrated in the great production of sugar cane and other agricultural productions. We visit its famous factory and combine this fantastic tour with the visit of Juan Venado Nature Reserve and its unique mangrove forest.
8:00 am – Departure from León to Flor de Caña factory, which is one of the main places of interest in Nicaragua. It is located in a volcanic climate area, with a panoramic view of San Cristóbal Volcano (the highest of the country). We will make a fascinating tour of the factory, a journey through the history of this unique product that has transformed into Nicaragua’s brand ambassador to the world. During the tour, we can taste the rum in its different stages, from the raw material to the final product.
12:00 md – We will go directly to the beaches of León, to enjoy the ocean breeze and to taste delicious seafood or others. There, we will have the time to relax and bathe in the sea, if you wish.
3:00 pm – We will ride the boat and venture in the heart of Juan Venado Island in the middle of a mangrove forest. We will visit this unique ecosystem and we will have the opportunity to observe its rich and varied fauna, many birds, animals and reptiles. We will be able to plant a mangrove stem and contribute to the reforestation of the environment. On the way back to the village, we will stop to visit a nursery with Paslama and Tora turtles in the project Palo de Oro in an expectacular place. Back in the village, we will return to Leon.
